Andrew Scott
Managing Director
Andrew joined H&H as an apprentice in 1994. At an early stage he took an interest in tuning and voicing, and began to work closely with Peter Hopps and Duncan Mathews. In 2000 at the age of 22 he succeeded David Chapman as London Tuner. In addition to his tuning, Andrew continued working as a voicer, playing a significant role alongside Peter and Duncan in projects such as Stockholm City Hall, St Mary Redcliffe, St Edmundsbury Cathedral and Westminster Central Hall.
Andrew was appointed Head Voicer in April 2012, in which capacity he was responsible for the musical success of many projects, including King’s College Cambridge, Canterbury Cathedral and York Minster, together with notable new organs for Edington Priory, Christ Church, Alexandria VA and Christ Church, Greenwich CT. He became a director of H&H in 2017 and was appointed Deputy Managing Director in 2021. He succeeded Andrew Reid as Managing Director in 2022.
In addition to his work at H&H, Andrew has been a board member of the International Society of Organbuilders since 2016, and was elected First Vice-President in 2023. He became a trustee of the Institute of British Organ Building in 2020, and was elected Chair in 2021.
Andrew is an accomplished organist and choir trainer, currently holding the posts of Director of Music at St Michael & All Angels, Croydon, and Director of the chamber choir, Amici Coro.
